Spelling & Grammar – Quick Check!

We all know that spelling can be tricky. How are we supposed to remember it all? And then there's grammar on top of that, as if one wasn’t enough.

So here’s a top list from us for you: with the most common cases where we all tend to struggle or doubt our abilities. ;)

P.S.: "Dass" is always in a subordinate clause, and (almost always) follows a comma. So unless the sentence starts with the subordinate clause (which is very rare), "dass" will never, never, never be at the start of a sentence.

Our tip: If you can place the definite article "der" in front of the word, it ends with "d".

Trick: the "l" is higher than the other letters, so it’s different from the others – that’s why "als" is used for unequal things. And by the way, "als wie" doesn’t exist. :)

Tip: If you're unsure, try replacing the word with "seitdem" – if that works, then it’s always "seit".
